Bare with me

Again, remember that I am trying to get caught up. Everything will be all over the place, but oh well, right. I am recording all of our memories, just not in order! LOL! Stay tuned!

Bowling Party

This year Javan's birthday fell on a Friday and he was ours for the weekend! So what better way to spend it, then BOWLING! Javan and 6 of his friends bowled, ate pizza, ate cupcakes, opened presents, and were BOYS!
s
They were all very competitive! It was funny!
Then Dad tore them up!
They had a great time! It was pretty cheap and easy!
I highly recommend this to other parents. No cleaning your house before or after, no cooking (except for the cake), entertainment is a given, and a good price!

Random Stuffing

Gram was stuffing a pillow, so we decided to stuff a Mak
Javan thought it was hilarious. Mak was not so sure
Then we stuffed Javan
And he LOVED it!
This really is the cheesiest smile I have EVER seen

This is really how they were most of the afternoon
Jay got new riding boots from us

A hunting jacket from the Aje Family

Then a new chest protector from Gram

He had a great day and a lot of fun! He got a lot of awesome presents and is thankful for them all!

Javan's Class

In November, Javan's class did a Native American unit. They learned a lot about the culture and traditions. They made a lot of projects and displayed them around the classroom. Here are a few:
Shield
Javan's peace pipe
His teepee

Story of Indians

He even weaved a rug!

When Mom Goes Shopping

I left to do a quick evening shopping. Dad was asleep and this is what I walked into.
How sweet are they? Curled up together, sleeping so soundly!
And this was my house after the tornado before the naping
It was a mess! I had to clean up before I killed my husband or kids!

Random Posing

We have a family bed! Well, we usually kick the kids out of bed when it is time to sleep, but we all like to play and cuddle!
Trying to get a picture of all four of us!

New Year's Snow Day

So one of my New Year's resolutions is to spend quality time together when we can! We definitely don't have a high quantity of time, so why not make it high quality, right?! So to start off the year, we went up Mt. Graham to play in the snow! Javan was game right from the start. Maky didn't know any better, she just wanted to go bye bye in Daddy's truck! Ty wanted to, but there was a lot of other things we should have been working on around the house! I just made everyone get changed and loaded a few things and headed up the hill. We are very lucky to drive about 30 minutes and be in snow country, play for a couple of hours, and head back down back home!

Mak playing with her Text & Learn
Javan watching Nitro Circus on his Ipod
Then Mak was asleep before we made it into Thatcher. You know it is such a long trip from Central! ha ha.
We had a great afternoon with lots of fun and laughs. Only a few tears were shed, so it was a good day! Then home for a quick dinner before Daddy had to go to work!

Ty is such a big kid!
You can almost see Javan in this picture!

Here is Maky's first snowman!
Once there was a snowman tall tall tall
In the sun, he melted small small small
Mak was very proud!

First Time

So this was the first time that Makynna has ever played in the snow. It took some getting used to, but she decided it was fun!
Mak loves ice, so it didn't take her long to start eating snow! NOT yellow snow, tho, thanks, Javan!
Working on her snowball (snowman baseballs) making skills!
Liking the "ice" off her gloves (glubs)!

More Snow!

Here comes TROUBLE x 3!!!!I love this one!

All played out, but it was FUN!

How cute is she in these BIBS?!?!

Behind and then SOME!

Okay, so most of you have probably thought we have fallen off the face of the planet. No, we have not, but we HAVE made it through the first semester of EAC's Nursing Program! Well, Tyrell has at least, but we have been the BUSY/supportive family behind him, so give us some credit too! LOL! I do not even know where to begin. There is too much to tell, so I am just going to give a quick summary on each of us and maybe a few pictures here and there. I am going to post this at the beginning and end of my updates, so hopefully it will make sense! Wish me luck here...
I am going to go through and add a lot of pictures, but not explain too much with each. There should be a pretty good summary for each of us a little further down. Keep reading....

Maky's Specs

Makynna has grown so much in the past 4 months. Of course, we left off with her getting her first hair cut and turning into a BIG GIRL! We have worked more on potty training, but can only get so far in the evenings and short weekends. It is taking longer that Mommy would have liked, but what can you do?!

Mak is talking non-stop! Full sentences all the time and knows everything that is going on! She amazes us with new words, her ABCs, counting to 19, sings a bunch of songs, and her attitude. We laugh and joke that Aunt Kritter has taught her well, and Krysta is so proud! Mak keeps cutting more teeth and is currently working on more molars! She got sick with ear infections for Thanksgiving, got better, and is now sick again! It is hard to be little. She is such a busy little girl and can destroy the entire house in 0.3 seconds!

Maky turned 2 and got way too many presents! We carved pumpkins for her party and ate pink cake! It was a good day! Maky was the best cheerleader for the Buccaneers and her big brother and even learned to say "Buck ears"!

Christmas was the best this year! Everything was exciting especially the lights and decorating the tree! Opening presents was fun, especially if they are not for you! ha ha! She loves cookies especially chocolate! Little Miss Thing!

Javan's specs

Javan has done amazing this school year! He is totally cruising through 3rd grade. He is the big man on campus. We will see how it turns out, but it was looking like he would get straight A's for this grading period! He has tried really hard and done pretty good with homework. It would be nicer if he were about to come straight home and do his homework right away. But he does it at Mama Aje's most days before snacking and playing.

Javan had a great football season! He started out the season as the QB, then got moved to just Defense, then back to QB for the last 3 games. He had 13 TDs (we know this because Grandpa Jeff paid him $10/each TD, and he has a $100 burning a hole in his pocket!), a couple interceptions, a couple thrown interceptions, lots of tackles (solo and as a team) and a LOT OF FUN! His team ended 4-4, so on the books we were not so great, but we had a lot of fun. Tyrell was able to help coach at some practices and almost every game (he traded a lot of Saturdays to be there). It was a blast and Javan always had a huge cheering section! Uncle Garrett, Uncle Jason, Aunt Tonie, Grammy, Grandma, Uncle Chris, Tyler, Abby, Kayslyn, Mama Aje, Pops, Aunt Whit (with Jack in womb), Aunt Krysta, Uncle Sean and his other half Kevin, Aunt Shay, and Uncle Dallon all made a game or two or more! And Javan's Duncan family made it to several games too. Thank you to everyone. Javan really appreciated all of the love and support all season.

Javan also had a couple of school music programs, class field trips, and a Bowling Birthday party with all of his little friends! It was a busy 4 months, but a lot of fun and totally worth it!

Janae's specs

I have been working at least 40+ hours a week really since I started in June. Work is good, but sometimes a little stressful and hectic, but that is life, right?! I enjoy my job, but probably won't make a career out of it. I have been trying to be a good Mom and supportive wife. That is about it for me, boring I know! LOL! We were able to have a great football season, everyone had a birthday, Christmas came and went, and I am still standing!

I had a birthday in September right in the middle of birthday madness and got a Kitchen Aid hand mixer and Vera Bradley overnight bag. I also got an Open Heart necklace from Kay Jewelers! Thank you to everyone!

Tyrell's specs

So the semester started in the middle of August, and Tyrell left Altech. He started working at the local nursing home a few shifts here and there. It was not enough to make ends meet, so he started part time in Greenlee County on the ambulance and in the Urgent Care. It has been great and time consuming all in one. He enjoys playing EMT more than working as a CNA! LOL! Then just the beginning of this month he got on full time at the hospital as a Night CNA 3 nights a week. He finished all of his training and is on his own! He is doing great, and we are glad to have a full time gig!

Tyrell did GREAT in school this semester. He had more than a full load with his Nursing Block 1 and two internet co-req classes. He did well all semester, then really excelled at the end. He got A's on all of the finals and that in turn made straight A's for the semester! Woo hoo! He got an A in Road Trip, Nursing I, Nutrition, and Pharmacology! He was amazing!

This semester Tyrell was so helpful to me too. He helped with the kids more than he ever could at Altech. He kept them at home, helped with transportation to and from everything, helped around the house (not so much with dinners tho), and was able to help coach Javan's football team! He really was an ALL-STAR Dad and Husband! He has worked 4 jobs at one time, full time student, dad, husband, and much much more!

Ty had a birthday earlier this month and got an awesome camo sweatshirt that he really wanted and also an Ipod Touch! He said he really needed it for Nursing and Drug apps, but I think there are a lot more songs, games, and movies on it already! Thank you to all the family that made this semester possible. We could not have done it with out you!

Thank you for all you did and are doing, Honey! I love you and appreciate you soooo much! You did great this semester! Keep up the good work; you are off to a great start!

Don't Have Time

I have been REALLY busy lately and have not found time to blog in the last 6-7 weeks! When I started this post, I was just going to say good bye to everyone and say I just do not have time. But then I read thru my blog from the previous couple of months and fell back in LOVE! I still do not have time right now, my sleep is VERY important to me, but I will get on soon I promise. I am hoping to tackle it on Saturday and Sunday and get all caught up. Until then, know that we are still alive and updates are coming soon and there are tons of them!!!

Hair Cuts for the GIRLS!

We went to Tucson on Saturday for Aunt Tonie to give us haircuts! She did my hair and it looks great, but the exciting part is Maky got her first hair cut. It was more like a very little trim, but hey it counts!
She sat on my lap like a big girl and had plenty of entertainment, Uncle Garrett, Uncle Jason, Daddy, and Brother!
Just a little trim to clean up the back.
She still has some of a mullet, but not a stingy!
Not every 1-2 year old has their own personal hair stylist at Gadabouts Salon!

Aunt Tonie and Uncle Jason moved. They found a NEW house to rent. It is really nice and in a great neighborhood. Now it is time to start working on the nursery! Baby Attaway has a due date of Feb 22nd, so Tonie is about 13 weeks now, and looks sooo cute with a little belly! She is hoping to get an ultrasound at the next appt and if this child will cooperate we may find out if we are buying BLUE or PINK! I think the majority is thinking BOY, but only time will tell. I did buy a gender test that Tonie did just this morning.. It says BOY too, so maybe it is true....

The best part about the house is the STAIRS!!!! The kids loved playing on them, and no one got hurt!

Eating out with Mak

It is always fun to try to entertain children while waiting for your food to come.
Uncle Garrett was really good at it though! They ate and flicked ice!
They colored pictures!

She took pictures of other people!

Then she finally had enough!

Eat at JOE'S

We ate at Joe's Crab Shack for a delicious dinner and great entertainment!

Dad in his BIB! He ate ALL of his steam pot and was sooo happy!
Aunt Tonie in her BIB! She ate her whole steam pot too and some pie! The baby liked it!
There were a couple of birthday partied there! They dressed this guy up as a hula dancer and made him perform while we sang!

He had just turned 21 so he gave a GOOD performance! Javan thought it was hilarious and took pictures!
And this picture is probably too dark, but this guy got to be a cowboy with a stick horse. He wasn't near as good as the first guy, but it was still funny!

And all of the servers danced for us also! It was a fun dinner with a lot of talking and laughing!
Thanks for coming with us, Uncle Garrett, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Tonie!

Hair Cut

Javan got to grow his hair since our anniversary. He would like to keep it long, but he does not wear the shag well. His hair is not made for it. And he sweats like a Man Beast. It needs to be short for football and his helmet...

This is was it looked like BEFORE!
This is what it looked like AFTER!
He cleans up well! It is a little shorter than I would like, but hey it is done and I didn't have to do it. In a week or two it will be perfect and then in two more he will need it cut again. It is never ending with this guy!

First Day of School

Javan got up pretty good this morning. I guess that it helps that he has been getting up to go to Mama Aje's most of the summer. He ate breakfast then got ready and had plenty of time to watch Sports Center! He was not going to look at the camer!

I told him that he had to pose and this is what I got out of him!

Finally, I got a good one of him! All new clothes, even the socks and underwear!

Such a handsome boy, with his hair cut!!!

Now, this is the Jay that I LOVE!!!

He is in Mrs. Scoggins class this year. She is new to Thatcher, but from the area. She seemed really nice to me and Javan said she was. I think this is going to be a great year for all of us! Now, back to homework and test! Yuck! LOL! Javan has his first spelling test tomorrow! Man, are these teachers rough?!

Back to Schooool

I tried to get a picture of both kids before school and Mak would not cooperate! She is so stubborn, especially in the mornings when you wake her!
Mak would not pose for me.

Walking to the school. I had it lightened, but it defaulted again. Sorry!
We walked thru the gate and he saw 4 friends and yelled for them. They all came over and said "come on, let's go play''. He put down his stuff, gave a a super quick halfway hug and was off! He is getting too big for MOM!

I made him pose in front of his desk!

They have his name on the roll right in front of them, and they still manage to SPELL his name wrong!!!

Javan even sang the stupid song from Billy Madison the whole way to school!

Sleeping Saga Continues

So this is how I found her this AM! Flipped upside down in her bed!
The flash made her stir and stretch
And back asleep! Hope I didn't disturb her too much!

So night #4: She fell asleep on the way home from practice at about 6:45PM. (She does this about 1-2 nights a week). I carried her inside and threw her into bed. She has been asleep ever since! LOL!

School Starting

School starts tomorrow and I have mixed emotions about it! I cannot believe that I am old enough to have a 3rd Grader that is almost 9 years old! It will be exciting to see what Javan learns this year. He is ready to go back, but has thoroughly enjoyed his summer. In some ways he wants to stay on vacation forever and in others he is ready to start this new phase. I think it would be harder for me if I were still at home with the kids all day. I would definitely miss Jay more! He is a huge help around the house and with Mak!
Have a Great first day of 3rd Grade, Javan! I love you and know that you will do awesome this year!

Pictures to follow!

Entertainment

We hired entertainment to come all the way from Indiana! Gram's best friend Beth came to see her for a week! While she was in the state, they made a quick trip to Safford to see us. They came to watch Javan and entertain Maky during football practice! We had a great visit for the couple hours of practice!

Mak and Beth catching bugs (there were gnats all over)
Maky thought it was soooo funny!
Then after practice we went to dinner at Casa Manana and continued catching up with Beth & Gram. Then a quick stop at our house before they headed back to Payson. It was a short visit, but well worth it! Thanks for coming, Beth & Gram! We love & miss you!I could not get all three to look at the camera at once!

And Maky the blur trying to get the bugs and falling over!

Side note: I believe that Beth is my most faithful blog reader! She gets on once a week and doesn't have a blog of her own. She loves to catch up with our family and see what we have been up to. She said it didn't feel like she has missed us for the last almost 2 years since we saw her last, because she knows everything that we are doing due to the BLOG! LOL! Love you, Beth!

Just a little SWEAT!

As soon as I get my camera out, it is time for a water break!
Here is Javan walking off the field!
And walking back on to the field~ LOL!

Handing off the ball to another player!
(Grey shirt, white football pants, and white helmet mid picture)

Running and handing off the ball (the blur in the middle of the picture)!
And this is truly how much he sweats! He is disgusting!

Water Baby

Of course, the summer is ending and Makynna has finally decided she loves the water. She has gone swimming a few times a week since our swimming at the hotel and she loves it. So I guess we will keep her in the family. I bought her a floating suit last week, so Mama Aje can have her and the rest of the 20 babysat kids a float! Mak even played with Aunt Shay for a long time on Monday and kicked and jumped and even went under water! That is my girl! We will have to milk the pool thing as long as we can this Fall!

Sideways Sleeping

The first night: Little Miss Thing insists on sleeping sideways. She always does, in our bed or her crib! She is a silly girl.
Here she is curled up sleeping the width of her bed!
The second night: Again she would not fall asleep in her bed, so she fell asleep in our bed and Dad moved her to the toddler bed. Then this morning I went into check on her and she was asleep on the floor in front of Javan's bed. LOL! I was just going to get the camera to take a picture, when Jay woke up and I was afraid he would step on her, so I threw her back into bed! No picture of floor sleeping!
The third night: She laid in bed for a long time and was really tired, but was NOT going to give it up. We read a book and then turned off the lights, that did it for her, she was up instantly. So she came into the living room and fell asleep on the middle of the floor! So we moved her to her bed AGAIN!
Wish us luck for night #4!!!!

Big Girl Bed

We got a free toddler bed for Mak forever (like Feb or Mar) ago! A friend was trying to get her BIG girl into a twin bed, but was having problems getting her out of this toddler bed, so she mentioned that they could give it to Maky, and that made it EASY! Thanks Kami & Kara!

So, we decided it was time to get Mak into it. With school starting in two days, we thought normal bedtime routines would be a great way to do it. Makynna does not like to me the only one going to bed though. She feels like she is missing out. So, we talked to Javan about putting her in his room, at least to get her used to her bed and new bedtime. He is such a GREAT sport, and was excited to have her in there. Now we just have to take the crib apart and make more room in our room!

She was really excited about laying in her new bed!
She has her blank and her Monk!

And now it is time to jump on the bed, so I sang " no more monkeys jumping on the bed" and she promptly ran to the bookshelf and got that book out!

Happy to have her own place to chill!

Finally Asleep!

We laid in her bed and read a book, then turned out the lights (so Javan read his scriptures with a flashlight!) But she was just not going to give it up. She finally went to sleep in my our bed (took about 30 seconds), and then I carried her into her bed. She was OUT!
Yes, I set up the baby monitor because we have both bedroom doors closed and our window a/c units on.
And here is the amazing big brother that has let his baby sister invade his room, sound asleep too!

August 8, 2009

I am NOT tired!

It was starting to get to be nap time today, so I told Mak "let's go lay down in bed". She followed and I thought all was well. Then she realized what we were going to do and she wanted no part of it! She started screaming, crying, spitting, and burgering (if that is even a word) all over the place. Finally after much fighting and yelling she won, I helped her off the bed and said "fine, go play". She walked into the living room and I followed. She laid down between the recliner and her baby doll cradle and fell fast asleep instantly!

All you can see is her denim butt and kind of her feet
A little closer shot
She really is squeezed in here!

Now you can see her head wedged in here.
But I am not going to move her. She is sleeping and sleeping well, so she can take her nap right there. I just vacuumed so it is clean! LOL!

Did I mention that Makynna is becoming 2? In every way, shape, and form!

He PASSED!

Well, Tyrell passed his test! He only missed 2 problems, so yea!!!! He was a little stressed about taking it, but did GREAT! Good Job, Babe! Now, we just have to wait for Road Trip to start in a week and a half and real classes in two weeks!

Side note, we have cable internet that is SOOOOO much faster than our Alltel crap we had before. And we have switched to Verizon Wireless for our cell phone needs! Watch out, we are moving up in the world!

August 6, 2009

Good Luck

This is just a quick Good Luck to Tyrell. He is taking his Medical Dosage Calulations Test tomorrow. This is the last real thing that he has to do before starting the Nursing Program. I know you will do fine, Babe! I love you!

Next week is his last week at Altech, we still need to find a job for him (minor detail), we are getting CableOne internet tomorrow, and switching to Verizon and getting new phones on Saturday. Then school starts on Wednesday for Javan! He is excited to be the big man on campus at the Primary School! We will find out who his teacher is going to be tomorrow....

So this is about all of our craziness! I am sure there will be more to follow by the end of the weekend! Stay Tuned....

Football is Here

Javan started football practice this week. They have just been doing drills and such, so the coaches can observe them and get ready to draft!
Javan in black shorts, grey shirt, and white helmet
Javan doing butt kicks.
Standing in line
Talking and not paying attention
And now talking to everyone!

The pictures are not that great, sorry! First day, was too hot for anything, even picture taking. The second day was unreal windy, so no picts. These are from the third day and the parents are far away. I promise to take more next week, when we are broken into teams and really practicing!

What a Weekend!

By the end of the weekend, we all felt like this!

We started out getting up fairly early on Saturday. We packed and loaded and made it to Globe in time to eat breakfast at McDonalds! Then we headed to Mesa to go to the Temple. We planned on making this a family trip and hanging with the kids in the Visitor's Center. We walked around, looked at all the stuff, watched a GREAT movie about Joseph Smith (which Maky filled her pants during and was terrible and LOUD during), then cheked out the Tabernacle Choir displays. Then we walked around to where the HUGE statue of Christ is and Maky looked up and said "Wow, Jesus"! I was amazed, blown away, and so proud all at once!

Then it was time to go to the hotel to get checked in and changed. Then off for food and shopping. We all bought a lot of stuff. Tyrell and Javan got more things for school and Mak and I got some clothes too! My big buy was 2 new pairs of good Reef sandals! Javan's big buy was his new backpack for school. Tyrell's big buy was 2 pairs of shoes! Maky's big buy was clothes and a Curious George movie!

We ate a lot of good food! Outback and Panda Express were are favorites, oh and you can't forget the fresh lemonade at the mall! We got a lot of great deals and good finds. Then off to the hotel to lounge and sleep in! Then we got up, ate a bowl of cereal, and went swimming! I made Mak get in and she really liked it! Whew, just when I thought I was going to disown her! Then we checked out, ate, and did more shopping! Yeah, we bought a lot of stuff, but it was a great time together.

We got home by 8pm on Sunday, so not too late. We unloaded our bags, did some laundry, and crashed, so we would be ready to tackle the week!

Staying in a Hotel

We always do Priceline when we stay in the Phoenix area. We got an awesome price for the Hilton right across from Fiesta Mall.
It was a nice room with a VERY comfortable bed!

Javan trying on the shower cap! He had no idea what one was or why people would use one! Mr. Sweathead himself has never taken a shower without HAVING to wash his hair. He is always so gross.
It didn't take Mak long to make this room feel like home! Toys, books, and food all over!
The boys were happy to have 2 flat screens to watch the X Games on!
She has started really reading to herself. She turns each page and babbles on and on!

Maky the big Girl!

Gram had to work here at the college last week, so she stayed a couple nights with us. (I absolutely love it when my Mommy comes to stay with us. It is always a good time and we have fun! The kids LOVE her being here too. We are always talking and laughing, so it is GREAT!)
When she is here, Javan gives her his bed and he usually sleeps in his room on an air mattress. This night he said, just put the big blanket down, and I didn't argue. He took Maky into the room and she cuddled up and fell asleep with him. Since they were on the floor and Gram was in there I just left Mak in there for the entire night. She slept all night, like usual, but also flipped and kicked and turned all night long.
They slept cuddled most of the night. Javan kept her close to him and tried to keep her covered, but that does not work well with her. She is BAD about kicking off blankets. So he ended up covered and she was fine uncovered. LOL! She did manage to turn herself sideways to kick Javan. She does that really bad in our bed too and also in her CRIB! Javan was so proud of himself that he put her to sleep and kept her all night. He is such an awesome big brother!
Maky thought she was pretty cool too!

Popsicle Mess!

We went to visit Grandma Marva (our landlady) the other night and Mak came home with a bullet popsicle as her treat!
She ate it really well, but then it got a little/lot drippy at the end.
So I tried to take it away from her and she started screaming and crying. You can even see the tears above.
So I put her in the dry bath tub to finish her popsicle. She was very happy and then we stripped her down and filled the tub!

Only My Girl

Makynna is turning into such a 2 year old. She is becoming very independent and full of attitude and personality. I think this picture shows it perfectly: she picked out this outfit all by herself!
Plaid shorts, striped shirt, floral hat, and blue crocs!
You know it is a Lazy Saturday, when you fall asleep in your Cheerios!
But this was her second bowl full and Manny was over already! LOL!
Mak is such a happy girl almost all of the time!!!

Becoming a Man!

Javan learned how to mow the grass! He was very excited to GET to do it.
Of course, he is eating seeds while doing yard work.
He even learned how to pull start it. And Dad is happy to have the help with the yard!

School Shopping

First thing I have to say is I love the internet! It is the only way to shop. I always hit all the clearance/closeouts and find great deals. I have ordered several things for Javan already and a few things for Tyrell. And Javan just did a big school shopping weekend with his Duncan family, so he should be about set! We are talking about going to Mesa for the weekend to go to the Temple and buy a few more things. But mainly just hang out, sleep in a hotel, and eat out! This will be our last outting before school starts! It will be fun, and not a stressful we have to find it all in one day kind of shopping!
