Don't Have Time

I have been REALLY busy lately and have not found time to blog in the last 6-7 weeks! When I started this post, I was just going to say good bye to everyone and say I just do not have time. But then I read thru my blog from the previous couple of months and fell back in LOVE! I still do not have time right now, my sleep is VERY important to me, but I will get on soon I promise. I am hoping to tackle it on Saturday and Sunday and get all caught up. Until then, know that we are still alive and updates are coming soon and there are tons of them!!!

Hair Cuts for the GIRLS!

We went to Tucson on Saturday for Aunt Tonie to give us haircuts! She did my hair and it looks great, but the exciting part is Maky got her first hair cut. It was more like a very little trim, but hey it counts!
She sat on my lap like a big girl and had plenty of entertainment, Uncle Garrett, Uncle Jason, Daddy, and Brother!
Just a little trim to clean up the back.
She still has some of a mullet, but not a stingy!
Not every 1-2 year old has their own personal hair stylist at Gadabouts Salon!

Aunt Tonie and Uncle Jason moved. They found a NEW house to rent. It is really nice and in a great neighborhood. Now it is time to start working on the nursery! Baby Attaway has a due date of Feb 22nd, so Tonie is about 13 weeks now, and looks sooo cute with a little belly! She is hoping to get an ultrasound at the next appt and if this child will cooperate we may find out if we are buying BLUE or PINK! I think the majority is thinking BOY, but only time will tell. I did buy a gender test that Tonie did just this morning.. It says BOY too, so maybe it is true....

The best part about the house is the STAIRS!!!! The kids loved playing on them, and no one got hurt!

Eating out with Mak

It is always fun to try to entertain children while waiting for your food to come.
Uncle Garrett was really good at it though! They ate and flicked ice!
They colored pictures!

She took pictures of other people!

Then she finally had enough!

Eat at JOE'S

We ate at Joe's Crab Shack for a delicious dinner and great entertainment!

Dad in his BIB! He ate ALL of his steam pot and was sooo happy!
Aunt Tonie in her BIB! She ate her whole steam pot too and some pie! The baby liked it!
There were a couple of birthday partied there! They dressed this guy up as a hula dancer and made him perform while we sang!

He had just turned 21 so he gave a GOOD performance! Javan thought it was hilarious and took pictures!
And this picture is probably too dark, but this guy got to be a cowboy with a stick horse. He wasn't near as good as the first guy, but it was still funny!

And all of the servers danced for us also! It was a fun dinner with a lot of talking and laughing!
Thanks for coming with us, Uncle Garrett, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Tonie!

Hair Cut

Javan got to grow his hair since our anniversary. He would like to keep it long, but he does not wear the shag well. His hair is not made for it. And he sweats like a Man Beast. It needs to be short for football and his helmet...

This is was it looked like BEFORE!
This is what it looked like AFTER!
He cleans up well! It is a little shorter than I would like, but hey it is done and I didn't have to do it. In a week or two it will be perfect and then in two more he will need it cut again. It is never ending with this guy!

First Day of School

Javan got up pretty good this morning. I guess that it helps that he has been getting up to go to Mama Aje's most of the summer. He ate breakfast then got ready and had plenty of time to watch Sports Center! He was not going to look at the camer!

I told him that he had to pose and this is what I got out of him!

Finally, I got a good one of him! All new clothes, even the socks and underwear!

Such a handsome boy, with his hair cut!!!

Now, this is the Jay that I LOVE!!!

He is in Mrs. Scoggins class this year. She is new to Thatcher, but from the area. She seemed really nice to me and Javan said she was. I think this is going to be a great year for all of us! Now, back to homework and test! Yuck! LOL! Javan has his first spelling test tomorrow! Man, are these teachers rough?!

Back to Schooool

I tried to get a picture of both kids before school and Mak would not cooperate! She is so stubborn, especially in the mornings when you wake her!
Mak would not pose for me.

Walking to the school. I had it lightened, but it defaulted again. Sorry!
We walked thru the gate and he saw 4 friends and yelled for them. They all came over and said "come on, let's go play''. He put down his stuff, gave a a super quick halfway hug and was off! He is getting too big for MOM!

I made him pose in front of his desk!

They have his name on the roll right in front of them, and they still manage to SPELL his name wrong!!!

Javan even sang the stupid song from Billy Madison the whole way to school!

Sleeping Saga Continues

So this is how I found her this AM! Flipped upside down in her bed!
The flash made her stir and stretch
And back asleep! Hope I didn't disturb her too much!

So night #4: She fell asleep on the way home from practice at about 6:45PM. (She does this about 1-2 nights a week). I carried her inside and threw her into bed. She has been asleep ever since! LOL!

School Starting

School starts tomorrow and I have mixed emotions about it! I cannot believe that I am old enough to have a 3rd Grader that is almost 9 years old! It will be exciting to see what Javan learns this year. He is ready to go back, but has thoroughly enjoyed his summer. In some ways he wants to stay on vacation forever and in others he is ready to start this new phase. I think it would be harder for me if I were still at home with the kids all day. I would definitely miss Jay more! He is a huge help around the house and with Mak!
Have a Great first day of 3rd Grade, Javan! I love you and know that you will do awesome this year!

Pictures to follow!

Entertainment

We hired entertainment to come all the way from Indiana! Gram's best friend Beth came to see her for a week! While she was in the state, they made a quick trip to Safford to see us. They came to watch Javan and entertain Maky during football practice! We had a great visit for the couple hours of practice!

Mak and Beth catching bugs (there were gnats all over)
Maky thought it was soooo funny!
Then after practice we went to dinner at Casa Manana and continued catching up with Beth & Gram. Then a quick stop at our house before they headed back to Payson. It was a short visit, but well worth it! Thanks for coming, Beth & Gram! We love & miss you!I could not get all three to look at the camera at once!

And Maky the blur trying to get the bugs and falling over!

Side note: I believe that Beth is my most faithful blog reader! She gets on once a week and doesn't have a blog of her own. She loves to catch up with our family and see what we have been up to. She said it didn't feel like she has missed us for the last almost 2 years since we saw her last, because she knows everything that we are doing due to the BLOG! LOL! Love you, Beth!

Just a little SWEAT!

As soon as I get my camera out, it is time for a water break!
Here is Javan walking off the field!
And walking back on to the field~ LOL!

Handing off the ball to another player!
(Grey shirt, white football pants, and white helmet mid picture)

Running and handing off the ball (the blur in the middle of the picture)!
And this is truly how much he sweats! He is disgusting!

Water Baby

Of course, the summer is ending and Makynna has finally decided she loves the water. She has gone swimming a few times a week since our swimming at the hotel and she loves it. So I guess we will keep her in the family. I bought her a floating suit last week, so Mama Aje can have her and the rest of the 20 babysat kids a float! Mak even played with Aunt Shay for a long time on Monday and kicked and jumped and even went under water! That is my girl! We will have to milk the pool thing as long as we can this Fall!

Sideways Sleeping

The first night: Little Miss Thing insists on sleeping sideways. She always does, in our bed or her crib! She is a silly girl.
Here she is curled up sleeping the width of her bed!
The second night: Again she would not fall asleep in her bed, so she fell asleep in our bed and Dad moved her to the toddler bed. Then this morning I went into check on her and she was asleep on the floor in front of Javan's bed. LOL! I was just going to get the camera to take a picture, when Jay woke up and I was afraid he would step on her, so I threw her back into bed! No picture of floor sleeping!
The third night: She laid in bed for a long time and was really tired, but was NOT going to give it up. We read a book and then turned off the lights, that did it for her, she was up instantly. So she came into the living room and fell asleep on the middle of the floor! So we moved her to her bed AGAIN!
Wish us luck for night #4!!!!

Big Girl Bed

We got a free toddler bed for Mak forever (like Feb or Mar) ago! A friend was trying to get her BIG girl into a twin bed, but was having problems getting her out of this toddler bed, so she mentioned that they could give it to Maky, and that made it EASY! Thanks Kami & Kara!

So, we decided it was time to get Mak into it. With school starting in two days, we thought normal bedtime routines would be a great way to do it. Makynna does not like to me the only one going to bed though. She feels like she is missing out. So, we talked to Javan about putting her in his room, at least to get her used to her bed and new bedtime. He is such a GREAT sport, and was excited to have her in there. Now we just have to take the crib apart and make more room in our room!

She was really excited about laying in her new bed!
She has her blank and her Monk!

And now it is time to jump on the bed, so I sang " no more monkeys jumping on the bed" and she promptly ran to the bookshelf and got that book out!

Happy to have her own place to chill!

Finally Asleep!

We laid in her bed and read a book, then turned out the lights (so Javan read his scriptures with a flashlight!) But she was just not going to give it up. She finally went to sleep in my our bed (took about 30 seconds), and then I carried her into her bed. She was OUT!
Yes, I set up the baby monitor because we have both bedroom doors closed and our window a/c units on.
And here is the amazing big brother that has let his baby sister invade his room, sound asleep too!

August 8, 2009

I am NOT tired!

It was starting to get to be nap time today, so I told Mak "let's go lay down in bed". She followed and I thought all was well. Then she realized what we were going to do and she wanted no part of it! She started screaming, crying, spitting, and burgering (if that is even a word) all over the place. Finally after much fighting and yelling she won, I helped her off the bed and said "fine, go play". She walked into the living room and I followed. She laid down between the recliner and her baby doll cradle and fell fast asleep instantly!

All you can see is her denim butt and kind of her feet
A little closer shot
She really is squeezed in here!

Now you can see her head wedged in here.
But I am not going to move her. She is sleeping and sleeping well, so she can take her nap right there. I just vacuumed so it is clean! LOL!

Did I mention that Makynna is becoming 2? In every way, shape, and form!

He PASSED!

Well, Tyrell passed his test! He only missed 2 problems, so yea!!!! He was a little stressed about taking it, but did GREAT! Good Job, Babe! Now, we just have to wait for Road Trip to start in a week and a half and real classes in two weeks!

Side note, we have cable internet that is SOOOOO much faster than our Alltel crap we had before. And we have switched to Verizon Wireless for our cell phone needs! Watch out, we are moving up in the world!

August 6, 2009

Good Luck

This is just a quick Good Luck to Tyrell. He is taking his Medical Dosage Calulations Test tomorrow. This is the last real thing that he has to do before starting the Nursing Program. I know you will do fine, Babe! I love you!

Next week is his last week at Altech, we still need to find a job for him (minor detail), we are getting CableOne internet tomorrow, and switching to Verizon and getting new phones on Saturday. Then school starts on Wednesday for Javan! He is excited to be the big man on campus at the Primary School! We will find out who his teacher is going to be tomorrow....

So this is about all of our craziness! I am sure there will be more to follow by the end of the weekend! Stay Tuned....

Football is Here

Javan started football practice this week. They have just been doing drills and such, so the coaches can observe them and get ready to draft!
Javan in black shorts, grey shirt, and white helmet
Javan doing butt kicks.
Standing in line
Talking and not paying attention
And now talking to everyone!

The pictures are not that great, sorry! First day, was too hot for anything, even picture taking. The second day was unreal windy, so no picts. These are from the third day and the parents are far away. I promise to take more next week, when we are broken into teams and really practicing!

What a Weekend!

By the end of the weekend, we all felt like this!

We started out getting up fairly early on Saturday. We packed and loaded and made it to Globe in time to eat breakfast at McDonalds! Then we headed to Mesa to go to the Temple. We planned on making this a family trip and hanging with the kids in the Visitor's Center. We walked around, looked at all the stuff, watched a GREAT movie about Joseph Smith (which Maky filled her pants during and was terrible and LOUD during), then cheked out the Tabernacle Choir displays. Then we walked around to where the HUGE statue of Christ is and Maky looked up and said "Wow, Jesus"! I was amazed, blown away, and so proud all at once!

Then it was time to go to the hotel to get checked in and changed. Then off for food and shopping. We all bought a lot of stuff. Tyrell and Javan got more things for school and Mak and I got some clothes too! My big buy was 2 new pairs of good Reef sandals! Javan's big buy was his new backpack for school. Tyrell's big buy was 2 pairs of shoes! Maky's big buy was clothes and a Curious George movie!

We ate a lot of good food! Outback and Panda Express were are favorites, oh and you can't forget the fresh lemonade at the mall! We got a lot of great deals and good finds. Then off to the hotel to lounge and sleep in! Then we got up, ate a bowl of cereal, and went swimming! I made Mak get in and she really liked it! Whew, just when I thought I was going to disown her! Then we checked out, ate, and did more shopping! Yeah, we bought a lot of stuff, but it was a great time together.

We got home by 8pm on Sunday, so not too late. We unloaded our bags, did some laundry, and crashed, so we would be ready to tackle the week!

Staying in a Hotel

We always do Priceline when we stay in the Phoenix area. We got an awesome price for the Hilton right across from Fiesta Mall.
It was a nice room with a VERY comfortable bed!

Javan trying on the shower cap! He had no idea what one was or why people would use one! Mr. Sweathead himself has never taken a shower without HAVING to wash his hair. He is always so gross.
It didn't take Mak long to make this room feel like home! Toys, books, and food all over!
The boys were happy to have 2 flat screens to watch the X Games on!
She has started really reading to herself. She turns each page and babbles on and on!

Maky the big Girl!

Gram had to work here at the college last week, so she stayed a couple nights with us. (I absolutely love it when my Mommy comes to stay with us. It is always a good time and we have fun! The kids LOVE her being here too. We are always talking and laughing, so it is GREAT!)
When she is here, Javan gives her his bed and he usually sleeps in his room on an air mattress. This night he said, just put the big blanket down, and I didn't argue. He took Maky into the room and she cuddled up and fell asleep with him. Since they were on the floor and Gram was in there I just left Mak in there for the entire night. She slept all night, like usual, but also flipped and kicked and turned all night long.
They slept cuddled most of the night. Javan kept her close to him and tried to keep her covered, but that does not work well with her. She is BAD about kicking off blankets. So he ended up covered and she was fine uncovered. LOL! She did manage to turn herself sideways to kick Javan. She does that really bad in our bed too and also in her CRIB! Javan was so proud of himself that he put her to sleep and kept her all night. He is such an awesome big brother!
Maky thought she was pretty cool too!

Popsicle Mess!

We went to visit Grandma Marva (our landlady) the other night and Mak came home with a bullet popsicle as her treat!
She ate it really well, but then it got a little/lot drippy at the end.
So I tried to take it away from her and she started screaming and crying. You can even see the tears above.
So I put her in the dry bath tub to finish her popsicle. She was very happy and then we stripped her down and filled the tub!

Only My Girl

Makynna is turning into such a 2 year old. She is becoming very independent and full of attitude and personality. I think this picture shows it perfectly: she picked out this outfit all by herself!
Plaid shorts, striped shirt, floral hat, and blue crocs!
You know it is a Lazy Saturday, when you fall asleep in your Cheerios!
But this was her second bowl full and Manny was over already! LOL!
Mak is such a happy girl almost all of the time!!!

Becoming a Man!

Javan learned how to mow the grass! He was very excited to GET to do it.
Of course, he is eating seeds while doing yard work.
He even learned how to pull start it. And Dad is happy to have the help with the yard!

School Shopping

First thing I have to say is I love the internet! It is the only way to shop. I always hit all the clearance/closeouts and find great deals. I have ordered several things for Javan already and a few things for Tyrell. And Javan just did a big school shopping weekend with his Duncan family, so he should be about set! We are talking about going to Mesa for the weekend to go to the Temple and buy a few more things. But mainly just hang out, sleep in a hotel, and eat out! This will be our last outting before school starts! It will be fun, and not a stressful we have to find it all in one day kind of shopping!

Nursing Program

Tyrell is a officially accepted in the Nursing Program at EAC in Thatcher! He has been very busy for the last year taking his pre-reqs for nursing and it finally has paid off. He was an alternate until about a week ago. School starts on August 24th! So our life is definitely going to change for the next two years! Tyrell took his CNA test and passed! So now he has two certificates under his belt.

Of course, I am back to work which is great and the only way that this is possible. Tyrell will also have to leave his full time job at Altech to go to school full time. He has about 2 weeks left at Altech. He is currently looking for a job that will work around his school schedule either as an EMT or as a CNA. This will give him more experience in the field and help pay the bills.

We are looking into many things with all of our changes. We need a faster internet connection for the 2 online classes he will be taking. He will also need a cell phone, since he will be giving back his work one. We have the truck which has been parked for the majority of the last two years, so it will see more drive time. Tyrell will not have time to be Javan's coach this year and I will not have time to be Team Mom. The Aje Family is very willing to help us out, especially with the kids. And Grammy is a great help to us in MANY ways and a great nursing advisor for Tyrell.

We are looking forward to this. It will be hard for all of us, especially Tyrell. But I am going to do my best to work and be a "single parent" so Tyrell can go to school, study, and work. I know that we can do this. It will be great in two years and Ty is an RN! This will be a challenge for us, but a very good one. Wish us all GOOD LUCK!

Gram and her kids

Here is my Mommy and my kids on her birthday! She is such an amazing woman whom I look up to immensely. She is such the example to me in so many ways. I am so thankful that she moved back across country to be closer to us.
Happy Birthday, Grammy!
We love you LOTS!

Grammy's Birthday

Grammy came down for Sean's Eagle Court of Honor. So we had a little birthday party for her a day early!
We gave her a CD case, because she has a HUGE mess of CDs in her car!

And Tyrell picked out a great Church book. Always a hit with Gram!

The Aje Family got her a cute calendar with easel

and a FAITH sign from Gingerbread!

Birthday Cake Times Two!!!

Grammy had a birthday too!

Javan is a GREAT suck up! He has always said that Grammy is 39 years old!

Pops had a dump cake and Gram had a lemon cake

Both Pops and Gram trying to show Makynna how to blow out candles!

Backyard Fun!!!

Maky has learned to climb up and go down the slide all by herself!

Playing in the car with Aunt Whit

Playing on the other playground with Aunt Whitney!!!

Maky also says everybody's names. She has changed Pops to Papi, Mama Aje is now Ahma, Whitney is Whiney, Krysta is Krita, Sean is Uan or Juan, Shay is Baybos (for Shaybos) and Dallon is Dal! Everyone is very excited that she says their name now!

Sean the Eagle Scout!!!

During our crazy busy weekend, we decided to squeeze in Sean's Eagle Court of Honor.
We are very proud of him and this accomplishment! Although he did his Eagle Project almost 4 years ago (National Night Out 2005), he finally finished his paperwork right before his birthday!

Tyrell has his Eagle, Sean now has his Eagle, Dallon has been working very hard in Boyscouts (he says he will have his Eagle by age 14), and Javan is cruising through Cubscouts! And Pops is the Cubmaster in their ward!
I would have to say we are a scouting family!

Tyrell with his boys!

Maky sitting and reading like a perfect angel! Don't let her fool you, she was loud and all over the place during the 30 minutes. She even went up to the front and had Mama Aje hold her while she was supposed to be pinning Sean! Can we say "Little Miss Center of Attention"?!

Here are all of the Eagle Feathers from our District! Tyrell's is on the front row of this one, and Sean's is on the only row of the other one!

26th Anniversary

Pops and Mama Aje are such an example to us.
They were married young, but keep enduring together. They have shown us the priority that family should be and that families can be together forever!
They truly love eachother and it shows.

But they are no longer just parents, they are grandparents! So most presents we get for them have something to do with our kids.

This plaque is perfect! "Our Greatest Blessings call us Grandma & Grandpa!"

Whitney put a LOT of time into her and Krysta's present. It is beautiful and perfect!

It is a colleague of our family beach pictures with family sayings! It is awesome!

Pop's Party

We usually have a pool party for the old man every year and this one was no different!
We had a combined party for Pop's Birthday and Pops and Mama Aje's Anniversary!

Dallon stretching to get the ball

The girls even came down for the weekend. Krysta's first time since moving out!

They enjoyed hanging in the water, but crazy Kathryn forgot her suit!

Tyrell trying to avoid the camera!

Then we were off to the house for an AWESOME dinner of ribs (with sauce from The Branding Iron), baked potatoes, and baked beans! It was delicious! We were too full that we did not even have birthday cake that night! LOL!

Maky and the Water or Lack there of

Maky is going through a new phase. She HATES the pool! She does not belong in this family, if she doesn't like the water!

It has to be her idea to play in the water, even in the baby pool! She needs to outgrow this phase quick.

This is the closest she will get voluntarily! LOL!

Playing with Mama Aje on the side. Cuz Mama Aje never gets in either...

Boys at the Pool

These guys love the pool.
They are constantly making up new running/jumping/throwing/catching/splashing game! Even Tyrell and Pops join in. They are big kids too!

I try to get a good one of all of them, and this is what I get.

Then they actually try and Dalon still closes his eyes! I give up!

Here are Manly Men or BOYS!

Papi had a Birthday

July 15th was Pops birthday! He is 44 years young! You are such a great dad and Pops. Thank you for being you! And don't worry you will always act like a big kid, no matter the digit tied to you!
From Dallon he got a HUG certificate, but it had already expired! LOL!

And a bladder for his hunting backpack and a Red Bull from the fridge!

We gave him a Home Depot mini tool box with a gift card!

Whit and Krysta gave him a framed picture of he and Mama Aje for his desk at work!

Javan is Growing Up!

Javan had his yearly physical before starting football this year. He is 4 feet 4 3/4 inches! He said and I quote, " I am almost taller than Sue, my Grandma (Angie), Mama Aje, and Aunt Whitney! LOL! We weighs 69 pounds and 8 ounces. He almost weighs as much as his Uncle Dallon (who is almost 4 years older)! Javan gained 11 pounds in the last year! He is bulking up for football! Just kidding, but he ready to play! Everything else at the doctor's office was great. No shots except for flu shots until he is 11, so he was very happy. They gave him a couple of stickers at the end of the appointment, but was too big for them, so Makynna got them. He is VERY good at sharing with her.

Javan's Cubscout Pack had their annual Pack Fitness Day. They competed in about 5 events and Javan got 1st place in every event for his Den. Now he gets to go on to Districts sometime next month! He is very fast and competitive

He also went to the dentist for a routine cleaning. Outcome was pretty good, just need to work on flossing a little better! Javan is all signed up for football. We just have to wait for practices to start. We are very excited. This year it is a new league, no longer Pop Warner, now it is American Youth Football. We are excited about the change. It should allow more kids to play. But I do not think I will have time to be Team Mom (I was for the last two years). I am just too busy with work, so other moms will have to step up.

Javan is starting to act more mature. He has always been, but even more so now. He is getting very tough too, he used to be a Momma's Boy, thus the nickname Cheech, but not so much anymore. He plays with the BIG BOYS and hangs well. He is reading well and does great in school. He is very smart. I am looking forward to see what he will learn this year. He is a big help with Maky here at home, IN THE CAR, and at Mama Aje's house. He is also a huge help around the house. He is gaining a strong testimony of the church. He is very good at reading his scriptures and saying prayers. He is an example to us all.

As you can probably tell, I miss my little boy like CRAZY. He has been in Duncan for almost a week now, as part of the summer visitation schedule. He really enjoys it and I know that it is good for him and his dad, but it is very hard for me to have him gone for that long. I talked to him on the phone yesterday and had a great visit. And he will be home tomorrow after work! So I will just keep thinking about him until then....

He was being such a goof ball. He kept doing this and then belly flopping!
He looks like the biggest goober ever!

We have a very exciting weekend in store for us. So more pictures and updates to follow

It has been HOT HOT around here! We decided to cool off with a family swim on Sunday!
The water felt so good, we were there for a good 2+ hours.
Javan is such a fish. He usually goes swimming everyday.
He really enjoyed having his Daddy there to play with
Mak didn't want anything to do with the water, but everyone else enjoyed it!

Why I don't live in Phoenix

This is what my car thermometer said when we came out of the Temple! It was unreal HOT!
Tyrell and I were able to go to the Temple on Saturday just the two of us. Javan was in Duncan and we got a great cheap babysitter for Mak, so we took off for the day. We had/have some big decisions coming up, so we needed time alone to work on these. It was a GREAT trip, but also very weird not having any children. We really just went to the Temple, stopped at the bookstore, and then hit Panda Express for a quick bite to eat before coming home. Thank you to those that made it possible for us to go!

Scorpions

I HATE SCORPIONS! Central has always been a bad place for this pesky little critters, but this past week has been unreal! We found a baby one in the tub, a fat one in the medicine cabinet, then I was stung my a baby one while doing laundry last Friday, then found another baby one, a medium size one, a huge fat one, and then another baby one. All in about a week's time. I am ready to move out of this scorpion infested house!!!!
